Good Morning,
Weather looking OK this week.

On Tuesday there is the Home Match against Drayton Park.
So there is a Roll Up Stableford which Gerry Collier will run.

On Thursday a long awaiting Prize Giving so if you have won something over the last 3 months please be there

So the competition is a fun Patsomes

Please see the draw for the Patsomes Pairs competition.

Please note the slightly later tee time start.
This is to allow some players who cannot start earlier for good reasons to be part of the competition

If anyone else would like to enter at this stage Graham Simpson is looking for a partner, or if  anyone cannot play let me know and Graham can take your place

The format will be stroke play, full handicaps for both players divided by 2

Holes 1-6 - Four Ball - each player plays with his own ball and the better score of the team counts
Holes 7-12 - Greensomes - both teammates take a tee shot one ball is selected The player whose ball was not selected, then plays the second shot all future shots are alternated
Holes 13-18 - Foursomes - One player tees off on the odd numbered holes, the other on the even holes, regardless of who played the last putt on the first hole. The other shots are played in turns until the hole is finished.

SUMMER STABLEFORD ROUND 1 19th April

Morning all,

Well the sun shone brightly, but the golf did not.
Apparently it was too hot and people were pinning for the recent cold wet and windy conditions!!

The scoring was pretty low, only 4 out of 34 broke the 30 point barrier.

Anyway a day for some firsts and seconds.

The firsts were Mike Twyman winning Division 1 and winning overall, Mike’s first win I believe.
Steve Miles won Division 2, another first.
On to the seconds Ken Gregory is becoming the bridesmaid coming second for the second time in a number of weeks.

Also good to see some returning faces, Mike Dawson, Graham Simpson, Peter Burdon and some newer faces, Len Gough putting in his 3 cards for handicap and Julian Marks getting his first card for handicap

No one had an handicap reduction and 3 players had a full increase in handicap

Witney Lakes: Golf Course Open, back 9 and members only

As previously advised, there will be no Seniors game today.

Monday, 2 April 2018

Hi all,

With the course in a water logged condition, the course is closed today
It will not improve sufficiently by tomorrow with more rain due, to have a meaning game for the Reg Mills trophy.
Therefore I have postponed the Reg Mills Trophy tomorrow and will reschedule it in May.

If the course is open tomorrow members can of course have a friendly game.

Looking to Thursday, there is a match versus Haddon Hill, I will make a call on whether that can be played on Wednesday morning to give everyone especially Haddon Hill the chance to inform their players accordingly.

If the course is open members can participate in a Roll Up Stableford

Regards

Rod
