QUESTIONS FROM THE COURSE

QUESTIONS FROM THE COURSE - ANSWERS FROM YOU!

The first in a series of 'real life' incidents that have been reported by Seniors Members.

Test your knowledge or find out the answer, then listen to the 'official' version at the next Prize Giving.

No. 1 - At the 7th. hole Cliff pushed his drive into the ditch (a lateral hazard) running along the right- hand side of the fairway - this had never happened before!
The ball was lying quite well and there was every chance of being able to play it out and advance some way down the fairway. He went into the ditch, being careful not to ground his club and addressed the ball. In the backswing of his shot his club brushed an overhanging branch. Within the rules of golf what is the ruling about that?

No. 2 - On the 5th. hole Alan's ball went into a fairway bunker - this was only the second time this had ever happened!
When Alan arrived at the bunker he found that his ball was lying against a significant mound of sand. The mound was on the club side of the ball as he addressed it. Within the rules of golf was there anything he could do to help his situation?
