Hi all,

The high spot of the Witney Lakes Seniors year is not far away

The Seniors Charity Open is on the 7th August.

Ideally I would like members to bring a guest to play with them, if you have no golfing mates, please team up with another senior. You can play with a Lady, however the Ladies would need to play off a maximum of 28 off the yellow tees.

I have attached the sign up sheet for those who can print it off and I can provide the CDH number for our own players if need be.
I will also put more sign up sheets on the notice board in the Sports Bar

For those that don’t know, the entry is £25 per person, that includes entry to the competition with prizes on all the Par 3’s for nearest the pins, straightest drive, longest drive and a putting competition etc
There is also a great buffet and dessert included in the price.
In addition we scour the country side for great raffle prizes which number over 30 prizes

Anyone wishing to donate a prize or can encourage a local business to support us please let me or one of the committee know

Any senior not joining in with our prestige event and supporting the charity, without a signed medical, may find they have unusual start times for the rest of the year!!

It is a wonderful day to be enjoyed and to show off our course to the non members playing, of which we already have over 20 signed up.

Don’t miss out on the extravaganza

Regards

Rod

Good Evening,

Apparently I caused some confusion by putting up the Roll up Sheets early, with players using it as a sign up option.
None of our roll ups are sign ups.
I put these sheets up early to save Kevin a job

Good to see some new faces last week and this week, Phil Smart, Dave Dodds and Peter Cartwright, welcome to Witney lakes Seniors.

Also good to see Dave Halliday, Kevin Sheehan and Peter McNamara enjoying their second game of the year with us

Congratulations to Richard Gent for being the overall winner and a strong start from Dave Dodds 1st in Division 1 and 2nd overall

Thursday 17 May 2018

Another lovely day on the golf course today but surprisingly cold in the wind.
Congratulations to Alex Tyrell who won today on countback from Mike Twyman.

Course was in great condition and I'm sure were now all looking forward to doing it all again next week.

Just one reminder to all you entered for the Singles KO, maybe next Tuesday is a good day for your first round games if you have nothing else planned, we've a lot of boarded competitions and matches coming up and before you know it you'll be out of time.

What a lovely day today and a good day for golf as well (I played well anyway)

I noticed that the roll up sheets that had been put up in the changing rooms were already filled out so some of you werent able to make the punctual start you hoped for.
Please be aware next Tuesday is the same, the sheet is already avaiable and filled in, its in the Sports Bar now rather than the changing rooms, unless there is a general uprising I wont change that but Rod and I have communicated and it shouldn't happen again.

Thursdays start sheet is on the blog and also pinned up in the sports bar.

Today's result as follows

See You Thursday

Hi all,

Before I commence on the results over the last week, a number of early starters are not leaving their 50p for the charity box for missing a net par on the 8th or going into a hazard.
I have left the collection tin in the cupboard where the scorecards are.
Please remember this is for charity and those players that come in after me are encouraged to pay up.
Please write 50p next to your name on the start sheet when you have put the 50p in the tin. Thanks to Brian Floyd who did just that on Thursday.

Tuesday Match v Radley
Another good victory from the team and thanks to John Watt for stepping in at the last minute to cover for me.

May Monthly Medal

Surprisingly the scoring was not so good on Thursday, perhaps the longer course did not help., the CSS was 74
An another good round from Len Gough saw him come in with a net 73, Cliff Smith was second on 75 followed by Chris Hatherly on CB and Ron Deacon on CB.
Not unsurprisingly Len has had another handicap chop
