So later than expected here is yesterdays result.
Well done to the 12 who played and sorted out the competition for themselves
The start times for Tuesday will be on the tee time sheet shortly and the list of players signed up for the match against Kirtlington on 9th July will be on the matches page. Not a full team yet so please add your name next week

Tuesday, 25 June 2019
Well what a day. By the time I got up all the rain had finished but I understand from the brave souls who battled there way round today that once the rain stopped it wasn't too bad.
Only 8 results and one of them seems to be a bit off bur congratulations to Mike Twyman who won today with 30 points. He was getting quite excited as the later games came in and no one managed to knock him off top spot.
Result below but first comments about the next few days.
Seniors are in a match at Wychwood and a seniors day at Lillibrook on Thursday so I'm not going to try and organise a formal competition, but the tee time is still booked for those left in Witney.
Next week is the Club Senior Championships and Tuesday tee times are in handicap order. I wont be around Thursday but I'll pick up the entry sheets sometime Thursday or Friday morning and put the start list on the blog and in the changing room over the weekend

Thank You to all those who pointed out to me that the sign up sheet for next Tuesday was very obviously on the board in the Sports Bar.
When you get old a little sympathy goes a long way
The start times for Tuesdays game should be on the blog at the weekend and pinned up sometime Sunday
Now where did I put that sheet??
Results for today
Tuesday, 18 June 2019
Rod and most of the team are away so I'm putting todays result on the Blog so that I know where to find it.
So well played to all but especially Tony Ward with a winning 39 points.
Thursdays sign up is in the changing rooms but I cant find a sheet for next Tuesdays Summer Stableford does anyone know if there is one. I'll be in the sports bar Thursday to collect up Thursdays cards and will try to sort it out then

Witney Lakes Senior Men’s Pairs Charity Open
Obviously I would like as many players as possible to
turn out and support this event which is supporting Maggies Centre to support
families affected by Cancer..
NEWSFLASH – Meyrick Park are bring 10 players to our
Charity Open - Their
stipulation is that their pairs want to play with members from Witney and other
clubs, not each other!!
There is a sign-up sheet on the Notice Board
Ideally ask one of your golfing buddies from another
club, if you can’t then team up with one of your colleagues
You can just put your name down and we will pair you
with someone.
We need the numbers before the 2nd week of
July to start the final planning of food etc
Can we all have a look through the unwanted Christmas
presents and donate a Raffle Prize .
We make a lot of money for the charity with our £5 a
strip Raffle
Those that cannot play please do remember to donate a
prize or sponsor a hole
Glyn, Cliff, Kevin Rod B and myself will be glad to
collect these raffle prizes asap

![Image result for maggie's centre logo](file:///C:/Users/Rod/AppData/Local/Temp/msohtmlclip1/01/clip_image001.jpg)
Maggie’s
is a charity funded entirely by the kindness of people. Here’s how your money
helps:
£100 pays for a two hour Managing Stress session for up
to 10 people, exploring ways to relax and find calmness in day to day life
when dealing with the challenges of cancer.
£140 supports our exercise classes to help build and
maintain strength and confidence while living with cancer.
£170 allows us to provide ongoing bereavement support
by a professional to those who are recently bereaved as they start to rebuild
their lives .
£300 pays for a Cancer Support Specialist for a entire
day so that they can provide immediate advice and support to up to 100
Centre visitors.
£2,400 is enough to keep a Centre open for a day and
allows us to provide all of the above support to people with cancer.
Many Thanks

Hi all,
A reduced
field for Thursday Invotech trophy, probably down to the weather, but a great
chance to get your name on the boards!!
A challenge
taken up by Bob Kirkwood, who said in the club house he wasn’t going to play,
but I bet he is glad he did!!
Because Bob
was the only player within 3 shots of the course CSS, the only handicap changes
were reductions, in Bob’s case-0.3, there were no handicap reduction. I did
ring Intelligent Golf to check this out.
So Bob with
a 73 gets his name on the board and a place in this years Masters
Bad luck to
Dougie just a couple of shots behind. Barry James a new comer to the Seniors
was 3rd with a 76
And for
those higher handicappers that don’t think they have a chance off the white
tees, the top 3 gross scores in Division 2 were 103, 107 and 114!!
