Later this morning Team Witney did battle against West Berkshire GC.
The resullt was a WIN for Team Witney 3.5 to 2.5. Well done lads!

Hello Barry,
Just to let you know my club membership is expiring and I have decided not to renew it. I will therefore not be rejoining the Seniors Section.
I have enjoyed my many years with the Seniors but I can no longer compete. I will miss the friendly company and particularly the banter.
Hopefully I will bump into many of you around Witney.

The week ahead and beyond ...
Tuesday 30th August - There is a roll-up Bowmaker Team Game from 8:00 - 9:30.
Also that day is a HOME match against West Berkshire Golf Club - Coffee/tea and biscuits from 9:45 and first tee from 11:00.
Thursday 1st September - NO SENIORS GOLF THAT DAY
Friday 2nd September - Roll-up - Teesing Stableford TEAM Game from 8:00 - 9:30
Tuesday 6th September - Away Day to North Oxford Golf Club.
For those not on the away day there is no organised Seniors golf, however, tee times are reserved for the Seniors from 8:00 - 9:00 for those wanting a quiet game with their mates.
Thursday 8th September - Roll-up Eric's Competition INDIVIDUAL game. Tee times from 8:00 - 9:30.
Please note the away match against Shrivenham has been moved to Thursday 20th October.

Thirty players took part in the four-ball-better-ball Stableford competition.

After the decision today to postpone the start of the Winter Stableford to November, now makes room in the programme for the away match with Shrivenham.
Thursday 20th October is the new date for the AWAY match against Shrivenham.
Arrangements will be bacon bap & tea from 9.30 with Tee off at 10.30 followed by ham egg and chips or something similar after and a surprise pudding as promised. Cost £13.

Results from the games played today/ yesterday ...
Team Witney had an away match at Stowe GC yesterday. The result was a draw. Well done to all in the team, and especially to Kevin for being Captain and to Cliff Smith for standing in for an absent colleague.
Many of the team said they enjoyed the day .. the course, Stowe School setting, food and company. What more could you ask for?

The week ahead ...
IMPORTANT CHANGE OF GOLF DAY
The Witney Lakes Resort want to hold a corporate golf day, with a shotgun start, on Thursday 1st September, starting in the morning. They asked if our normal golf could be moved to the afternoon. Well as many seniors enjoy an afternoon snooze, I thought it better to move our regular spot to FRIDAY 2nd September. This will be a Teesing Stableford Team game with our normal course access from 8:00 - 10:00.
A note for your diary - Seniors' Golf has moved from Thursday 1st September to Friday 2nd September - normal times.
