Congratulations to Glyn Rees receiving the Wilf Shirley Shield

A decision was taken by the Seniors' Committee to CANCEL the Summer KO for 2016 owing to some entrants not completing their respective games on time. I know this has caused some acrimony from players who had completed their games, so apologies from the Committee for this. A refund should be given to all those players who played at least one game in the Singles KO.

... and now for the week ahead

Tuesday 4th October - Team Witney are AWAY to Banbury GC - first tee off time 10:30.

Meanwhile at home there is a roll-up Texas Scramble Team game. The first tee time will be 8:16 am - the Sports Bar will not be open until 8:00 owing to new rules by the management not allowing seniors to open the Bar earlier!

Thursday 6th October - Monthly Medal. Tee times will appear on the website late Tuesday. If you haven't signed up already then please do so.

The AGM is looming - Wednesday 26th October to be precise. If you want to put yourself forward for the Committee then please sign-up the appropriate paperwork in the Sports Bar. If you want to suggest changes to the Seniors' Section and/or games we play then also talk to James Barnett.

Oh - just a reminder it's the beginning of the month - Brian is away on another jolly so 'Muggins' will gratefully receive any monthly subs.

Thursday 29th September - Monthly four-ball-better-ball - teams and tee times are posted on this website. We are looking for one more player to join Robin at 8:30 on the first tee. Once again email me if you can fill this spot.

Remember after the game there is the monthly prize giving in the Sports Bar. Brian tells me there could be a FREE bowl of team chips for those pairs who stay behind for the prize giving - what an incentive to stay!

This week is the last week I will be collecting for the Captain's charity - so if you haven't yet paid up for all those mishaps on the 15th hole then now is your chance. Remember 50p in the box if your ball lands in the water, bunker, out-of-bounds or the gorse bush (and you need a drop under penalty). We aim to have collected some £1200 for  Prostate Cancr UK and a cheque will be presented to a representative from the Charity at the Presentation Evening on Friday 28th October.

Looking ahead there are sign-up sheets on the notice board for the golfing events well into mid-October. There is also a sign-up sheet for the final away match of the year against Shrivenham GC.
