Meyrick Park Bournemouth
Hi,
Some of you will have seen a sheet go up on the notice board regarding an invitation we have had from another Club Company Course Meyrick Park Bournemouth.
If we can get a team of 12 players together we can play them in a match on Thursday 22nd March teeing off at 11.58.
A late breakfast will be served from 11.00 am at a cost of £8.
I have heard some concerns that Meyrick Park is a Municipal course and I have put these concerns to my contact at the club, please see his comments below.
The course is owned by the council, so technically it is a
municipal course but it is part of the Club Company's franchise and they are
totally responsible for the course and it's upkeep.
A new green keeper was employed 3 years ago who had
previously been at Wentworth. Without putting too fine a point on it, I would
say that we have the best greens in the Company group and a number of the other
club's green keepers have approached ours for advice.
I am sure your team will enjoy Meyrick as it is a true test of
golf for all standards.
The sheet is on the notice board, so if you are interested please add your name.
I have asked what the situation is if more than 12 players wish to trial this course and will advise in due course

Hi all,
A good turnout today for the 3 Putters and a Putter. A competition I found a little difficult!!
It was good to see a couple of new players from the main club joining us today, Ken Gregory and Steve Harris. You are both welcome to join us again.
There was quite a gap between first players to return to the Sports Bar and the last players, despite there only being 40 minutes gap in start times, unfortunately this meant that some players had leave before the last players were in and were not there for the prize giving.
The results were as follows
1st Ron Deacon
2nd Brian Floyd
3rd John Watt
4th John Aexnder
Other prizes were
Nearest the pin
6th - Malcolm Saunders
8th - Ken Gregory
12th - Terry Edmunds
15th - Dave Williams
Longest Drive 10th - Terry Edmunds
Longest Drive 18th - Tony Ward
I am now away until 1st February, in my absence James Barnatt (sallyjames122@outlook.com) and Kevin Timms (kpslstimms@aol.com) will look after the competitions

Please see the latest position on the Winter Stableford below.
Obviously lots of opportunity left as there are 3 further rounds to go and as most of you know it is the 3 best scores that count towards winning this competition, so those that have haven't played or have only played one round can still win it
