Good Evening Team Mates

I'm afraid I didn't see the result for todays Roll Up yet, but I suspect you were well away warm and dry by the time we had the hail/ snow /hurricanes etc at the end of our match. By that time we had just about done enough to clainm the win Three and a Half to Two and a Half.

Just found the email Brian sent me this morning with yesterdays result

Only 17 played so I am afraid only prizes for the winners in each division so congratulations to John Alexander and Bill Ford

Two Matches coming up on the next two Tuesdays

Drayton at home on 25th April and Radley away 2nd of May.

We have more signed up than we need for both matches, thank you very much for your support, I have tried to give everyone who has signed up at least one game several have two. Also I have included a reserve for each match and they quite often get drafted in at the 12th hour.

Sorry to disappoint some of you

So both team sheets with as much info as I currently have going on the team sheet in the next 10 minutes.

For those not in next Tuesdays match Brian Rollerson will host Erics Game.

For the prize giving Thursday I still have to sort out the Tee times with the club as they would liketo push us back to one tee start. I will post information as soon as I have it.

Good Evening All

Several bits and pieces to post tonight.

Firstly I got the cards and sign up sheet from Tuesday so that result (rather belatedly) with 18 playing

Div 1
1st Mike Smith 40pts  2nd Andy Wright 34pts

Div 2

1st Cliff Surman 38pts 2nd Dave Butler 36pts

Congratulations to Mike and Cliff, we lost the match at Naunton Downs 4 to 2 and had a really good day on one of the most interesting courses we play. Nice opposition and very friendly.

Today another good turn out on a day that was a bit damp, results as below.
A couple of people asked about the reason for using the yellow tees on a summer competition. We had a committee meeting about three weeks ago and as agreed at the AGM reviewed the tees following on from the winter stableford. We decided as that arrangement had been very well received and with our confidence about using yellow tee competitions as "Qualifying Competitions" we would continue with the yellow tees for the summer stableford

As you will see I came in with 40 pts and once again the scores were pretty good.

I will post the Teams and next weeks arrangements separately later this evening

Thursday 13 April 2017

We will hold a singles knock out competition again this year and try very hard to do a better job of getting the games played than we did last year.

Cliff Smith will run the competition and I have freed up some dates in the calendar from May to help meet the deadlines. A sign Up sheet will be up in the Sports Bar by Tuesday.

Cliff is also helping me by looking for sponsors for the Charity Open, we had some great contributions from members, friends, and relatives over the years, so any ideas to Cliff please.

Glyn Rees get the prizes for the (famous) raffle and again any contributions to Glyn please, we are getting entries from outside the club so find a friend to play with and get signed up.

If you dont have any friends see if you can play with one of the wifes

Kevin

What a wonderful weekend now for a week full of top quality golf to match Augusta ??

Also we have a match at Naunton Downs next Tuesday and the week continues with round 1 of the Summer Stableford, which I will sort out the start sheet for after Thursday.

What a beautiful day. We had a very nice match, the sun shone, and the Haddon Hill players were  very complimentary, ( about the course not our golf).
The food was good and we won 4.5 to 1.5.

22 played in the roll up and scores were pretty good
Results
Div 1 1st Geoff Mills 38 points 2nd Mike Smith 35 points
Div 2 !st Dinger Long 39 points 2nd Roy Williams 34points.

Well done to everyone and good to see Roy back in the game.

We are all ready for our away day next Tuesday I have the groupings list which I will try and post on this blog later
There wont be anything arranged at the Lakes.

I will also make the Draw for the April Medal in the next day or so and post times on the Tee time list.

Tuesday 4 April 2017

Today we beat the course (at least some did) 8 players out of  31 player par or better. Mike Smith with an excellent 7 under was the winner of the Reg Mills memorial and Glyn Rees obviously had a field day with the scissors cutting the handicaps

Also welcome back all those seniors re appearing out of hibernation and blinking in the warm sunlight, a splendid summer of golf awaits you.

Thursday is a home match against Haddon Hill and thank you to all those who were able to answer my plea for players, the team will be on the web in about 10 minutes.

Lastly on Thursday a Stableford Roll Up for those of you who didn't make the team, the day managed by Doug "The Enforcer" Keen
