 HANDICAP CHANGES FOR 2018

A number of you will be aware that the R&A have changed the handicap rules for 2018.

Basically the maximum handicap for both men and women has now increased to a maximum of 54.

The Seniors committee met yesterday to decide our approach to these changes.

It is left to the discretion of the organisation, in this case Witney Lakes Seniors how these changes are implemented locally.

We have decided the following;

1. All our major Board and Trophy competitions will have a maximum handicap of 28 unless otherwise stated
2. All Monthly Medals will have a maximum handicap of 28
3. All other competitions will have a maximum handicap of 54

Matches versus our clubs - we will need to discuss this individually with the clubs we are playing to agree on a concensus

    But I believe that members with HC higher than 28 can still play in Trophy comps but can't win prizes. Also their scores will be recorded for HC adjustment.
    Am I correct? Ron F
