Player Etiquette - Keeping to a correct pace on the course

Another matter raised at yesterdays committee meeting was speed of play.

Although there are no rules for the time you can take to play a shot, you should keep up with the group in front of you.

It is the responsibility of all members in a playing group to encourage their playing partners to ensure that their group keeps up with the speed of play. I know this is difficult sometimes, but it is in everyone's best interest if games are played at a sensible pace

There are some major points that players should look to do.

1.  In Stableford competitions if you cannot score you should pick up.

2. If your ball is on another part of the course to the player who is going to take their shot first, you should go to your own ball if it is safe to do so, do not stand behind the player waiting for them to take their shot

3. Don't leave your trolley 10 feet behind you have it close to your ball

4. Make sure you leave your trolley on the side of the green, nearest to the next tee

5. Play ready golf, assess your shot, decide on the club and be ready to take your shot.

6. If you lose a ball and are looking for it call the following group through, that is just good manners

7. If you lose a hole to the group ahead, you should either speed up or call the following group through

Thank you for your support on this matter
